Fetty Wap paid a moving tribute to her late 4-year-old daughter, Lauren Maxwell.
On Tuesday (August 3), the rapper hosted an Instagram Live where he spoke about his daughter and her tragic loss.
“She’s fine. My baby is happy now,” he told his nearly 7 million followers, according to Fox News. He kissed a picture of Lauren before saying, “That’s my little twin right there.”
He then asked the fans to do him a favor and “just post all the butterflies on my s —“.
“Shorty loved butterflies… and if you could all do that it would mean a lot to me,” he continued.
Many fans shared the emoji on her stream and on her Instagram posts. He then started to cry before thanking everyone, “Dude, thanks everyone. It’s love. I appreciate you, for real. D —. It’s love. She would be happy as hell. “
Lauren’s mother, Turquoise Miami, announced her passing on social media on Sunday. She did not specify the reason for her daughter’s death.
Miami took to social media users who criticized Fetty Wap for not being there for her daughter before. She has written a series of Instagram stories according to Page Six. She previously posted videos about her ex criticizing her parenthood between 2017 and 2019.
“You don’t have to kick a man while he’s depressed, losing a child is as depressed as it gets,” she wrote. Miami explained that their co-parenting had improved and that he was there for them both emotionally and financially.
“We’ve come to a better place for Lauren,” she continued. “All you need to know is that Lauren loved her dad and he loved her. She made him laugh with her crazy, funny personality and she loved being the center of attention and he loved being her audience.
She asked that people be “more compassionate” towards him and that people send him love during this incredibly heartbreaking time.
