Five Finger Death Punch (often abbreviated to 5FDP or FFDP) is an American groove / alternative metal group from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2005 the band was originally made up of vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory, guitarist Caleb Bingham, bassist Matt Snell, and drummer Jeremy Spencer. Bingham was later replaced by guitarist Darrell Roberts in 2006, who was later replaced by Jason Hook in 2009. Bassist Matt Snell left the band in 2010 and was replaced by Chris Kael in 2011. Their debut album was The Way of the Fist. which was released in 2007. After its release, the band started achieving success quickly. In 2009 War Is the Answer was released which greatly increased their popularity. Both albums sell more than 500,000 copies in the United States[senza fonte]. On October 11, 2011 their third album American Capitalist is released. The band played international music festivals, including Mayhem Festival in 2008 and 2010, and Download Festival in 2009 and 2010.
