Actress Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of struggling pop star Britney Spears, has announced an upcoming “revealing” memoir.
I Must Confess: Family, Fame, and Figuring It Out will hit bookstores in January 2022. A publisher’s description of the book states that Spears “shares untold stories that are sometimes funny, inspiring, messy, and uncomfortable.” As if her mother’s credit card was refused at Limited Too while her sister was on the radio. How it feels to have inspired 16 and pregnant with her own life story. Why her daughter’s ATV accident caused her to reassess and reorient her life. And why his family is like any other family.
Worthy Publishing of the Hachette Book Group, a company generally associated with Christian authors, will send the book to press.
Page Six further reports that the title of the thesis has recently changed. The first press for the book called it Southern Roots. The new track reflects one of Britney Spears’ most iconic lyrics and comes at a precarious time for Jamie Lynn’s older sister.

Jamie Lynn Spears, 30, has carved out a career in the Nickelodeon Zoey 101 series, and as a full-fledged pop singer. She has recently come under criticism for not denouncing her older sister’s guardianship; Britney Spears landed in her father’s orderly custody following a nervous breakdown in 2008. The singer recently appeared in court to protest the guardianship, claiming she was abused by her and Jamie Lynn’s father, Jamie Spears. Britney fans also pushed for the end of the guardianship through the #FreeBritney movement.
Jamie Lynn, for her part, has been mostly silent about Britney’s guardianship, although she has occasionally hinted that there is more to the story than fans realize. Following a moving statement from Britney in court last month, the singer’s fans blasted Jamie Lynn for not doing more to end the guardianship herself. This anger has spread to Jamie Lynn’s children, who have received death threats from disgruntled fans.
In an Instagram post, Jamie Lynn blasted threats and criticism from #FreeBritney supporters.
“Hello, I respect that everyone has the right to speak out, but can we please stop with death threats, especially death threats against children,” she wrote in the post. “The only reason I haven’t [spoken out] before, it’s because I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she thought she needed to say publicly, it wasn’t my place and it was not the right thing to do. I think it’s extremely clear from the day I was born that I only loved, adored, and supported my sister.
“This situation does not affect me anyway because I am just his sister, who only cares about his happiness,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the battle for guardianship of Britney Spears continues. Just this week his court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham III and his 25-year manager Larry Rudolph both resigned their posts with the star.
