We’ve seen an avalanche of books on ex-President Donald Trump hit bookstore shelves in recent weeks, and hardly any of them have been flattering. For the most part, the Trump team did a decent job of mopping up all the spilled tea. But there is one book in particular that they are particularly nervous about.
Former Trump Senior Advisor / Chief Propagandist Kellyanne Conway is writing an eye opener and rumor has it that she is not hiding anything about what really happened at Trump’s White House. Considering his penchant for gossip and stabbing in the back, as well as his strong self-preservation instinct, this isn’t a good sign for Donald. And his assistants know it.
Political reports:
Privately, former administration officials and senior campaign aides have shared their concerns about Conway’s next revealer in particular. The former staunch adviser to the ex-president is expected to report on her time in the White House and those with whom she worked.
But it is worse.
Like several other Trump-related book authors, Conway sat down with his former boss in Mar-a-Lago to discuss the project and collect quotes, a move the former Trump press secretary / Dancing With competitor The Stars, Sean Spicer, called it a huge “mistake” on the part of the ex-president.
“I understand the reasoning, but it was a strategic mistake to sit down with these people,” he said. “You give them credibility. It’s hard to say, “I sat down with them and they got it wrong.” They therefore created a feeling of credibility which makes criticism more difficult.
In addition to being egotistical, Trump is extremely sensitive to how history will remember him, and that is why he has sat down with so many authors, says one adviser, even though, so far, it hurt him more than good since he almost always said something stupid.
Like the time he told reporter Bob Woodward that he intentionally ‘played down’ the coronavirus.
Or the time he told author Michael Wolff he completely trashed his own SCOTUS named person Brett Kavanaugh.
Or the time he told Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, Pulitzer Prize winners, that even George Washington and Abraham Lincoln couldn’t beat him in an election.
Although the exact amount of the sale has not been disclosed, Conway is said to have received the biggest advance yet for a Trump revealer, even more than former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who got 2 million dollars for his book. The room where it happened.
As well as offering an “unvarnished and breathtaking” glimpse into the Trump presidency, the book is also expected to take a look at Conway’s crumbling marriage to her husband, George, and his strained relationship with their daughter, Claudia.
