BIOGRAPHY OF ISABELLA FERRARI
Actress. He spent his early childhood in the small village of Ca ‘Fogliazza, consisting of five six houses scattered in the countryside between the hills of Piacenza, playing in close contact with nature together with his sister Fausta, two years older. When he turns four, his family moves to Gropparello, a small village where his brother Alessandro was born in 1969. In 1974, after long insistence from her mother, who has always dreamed of living in the city, the Fogliazza family moved to Piacenza where Isabella attended school without being able to become passionate about any subject. The only thing she likes and feels good for is the dance classes she attends in the afternoon. At the age of sixteen, while with some friends at the disco, she took part in the contest for “Miss Teenager” almost for fun. Admitted to the final test of the competition, she prepares a ballet and a recited monologue with which she obtains the victory. The award consists of a recording contract with Wea, which makes her record a single with “Un uomo” and “I sing a song” which, despite showing on the cover her sweet and winking smile and blond hair blown by the wind, did not success.At 17, Isabella auditioned with Gianni Boncompagni who rejected the record but was struck by her face and the writing for the television program “Sotto le stelle”, which in 1982 brought her into Italian homes. During the episodes of the show, she is noticed by the director Carlo Vanzina: she will be Wild in “Sapore di mare”. She thus becomes the icon of the naive, beautiful and somewhat unlucky girl of a certain kind of holiday film. At 18, Isabella settles in Rome where the first phase of her acting career begins but after a few years she realizes she is trapped in a cliché that will not take her far and decides to take a risk. She alternates cinema with theater and in 1988 she is chosen by Marco Tullio Giordana for “Appointment in Liverpool” in which she plays a desperate girl ready to kill the hooligan who took the life of her father. Meanwhile, his love life is quite eventful and, after the flirtation with Gianni Boncompagni, the one with Robertino Rossellini and the stormy relationships with the playboy Paolo Pazzaglia and the director-actor Francesco Nuti should be mentioned. In 1989 he played Lucia in “Willy Signori and I come from afar” at his side, in 1994 it was the turn of “Cronaca di una amore viololato” by Giacomo Battiato and in 1995 with “Romanzo di un Giovane povero” by Ettore Scola, he won Venice the Volpi Cup as Best Supporting Actress. In 2000 she plays the commissioner Giovanna Scalise in “District of police” directed by Renato De Maria with whom Isabella gets married in April 2002. Her character, which becomes familiar to the majority of Italians, leads her again to decide to abandon fiction to return to the cinema. In 2005 she is the protagonist of “Amatemi” by Renato De Maria and “Goodbye love, hello” by Michele Soavi. Isabella has three children: Teresa, Nina and Giovanni.
