John Barrowman’s sexual misconduct scandal just escalated

Actor John Barrowman has admitted to being “insane” last week over accusations he used to expose himself to cast and crew members on the set of Doctor Who as well as from his derivative series Torchwood. Now his Torchwood co-star Gareth David-Lloyd has come to his defense, but that doesn’t seem to help matters. In fact, it only makes matters worse.

In a statement over the weekend, David-Lloyd said that Barrowman’s behavior, which allegedly consisted of flashing people, slapping his penis against a car window and placing his genitals on the shoulder of someone while he was sitting in a chair, was quite funny.

“In my experience on Torchwood, John’s behavior on set has always been designed to entertain, make people laugh and keep morale and energy high during sometimes very long working days,” he said. he declares.

“Maybe it’s because we were so close as a cast that the professional lines were sometimes blurred in the excitement – I was too inexperienced to know more, but we were still laughing.

Hmmm. We are not sure of long hours and being “excited” allows you to expose yourself to your coworkers no matter how “close” you think you are.

The actor went on to say that Barrowman didn’t think he ever intended to harm anyone with his on-set antics.

“The John I knew on set would never have behaved in a way he felt was affecting someone negatively,” David-Lloyd said.

“From what I know about him, that’s not his nature. He was a whirlwind of positive energy, always very generous, kind and a wonderfully supportive lead actor to have at the helm of the series.

This dovetails with what Barrowman’s accusers told the Guardian last week when they described his behavior as “jokes” and “jokes,” but, they said, it still made them “feel bad.” easy”.

In a statement, Barrowman admitted to engaging in “insanity” on the set of Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood, but said he no longer behaves that way in the workplace.

He went on to say that his “spirited demeanor” was “never intended, in good humor, to entertain his colleagues on set and behind the scenes.”

“Looking back, I understand that the anger may have been caused by my rambunctious behavior and I have apologized for it before,” he said, referring to an apology he made in 2008 after declining. his pants during an interview.

Meanwhile, the BBC said it is investigating the charges against Barrowman, as well as her Doctor Who co-star Noel Clark, also accused of sexual misconduct on set.

A spokesperson for the network released a statement saying:

The BBC is against all forms of inappropriate behavior and we are shocked to hear these allegations. To be completely clear, we will investigate any specific allegations made by individuals to the BBC – and if anyone has been subjected to or witnessed inappropriate behavior of any kind, we would encourage them. to talk about it directly with us. We have a zero tolerance approach and strong processes are in place – which are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practices – to ensure that any complaints or concerns are handled with the utmost seriousness and care.

David-Lloyd might think Barrowman’s behavior was quite correct, but most people on Twitter seem to think otherwise. We suppose that he may regret having weighed on the matter …

I can’t believe Gareth David Lloyd is defending him

So, according to actor John Barrowman, repeatedly exposing yourself to coworkers on the set of a TV show is madness? Interesting.

I don’t know what turns me off the most, the appalling behavior of Barrowman or other men leaping to his defense. Gareth David-Lloyd speaks out on John Barrowman’s behavior on set https://t.co/A80pYj5Kkf via @DailyMailCeleb

If I ever get a job with a contract with @JohnBarrowman, do I really need to add “ no penis in my face ” as a clause to my contract? Is this where we are now?

BURN EVERYTHING

Pull out his penis and punch it against reluctant participants. Sounds like a pervert to me.

So many times sticking your dick out in a workplace is just “madness” according to John Barrowman. Vile and disgusting excuse from a man. Noel Clarke’s allegations are of course horrific, but Barrowman’s behavior is just as heinous. https://t.co/aXOAK6ff1a

Antics. My definition of this is somewhat at odds with John Barrowman’s interpretation. But hey, we’re all different.

Why do people excuse this behavior? Am I missing something? Exposing your penis in the workplace is sexual harassment. https://t.co/nGIXBEpt4s

Actor John Barrowman repeatedly admits (so not once) to exposing his penis while doing Dr Who – describing it as ‘silly’. Maybe that’s how he saw it, but the impact on others is what matters and it was wrong (criminal) in 2008 as much as it is today.
