Lady Gaga releases Elvis-riffic cover of “Born this Way” to mark album’s 10th anniversary

In honor of the 10th anniversary of Lady Gaga’s flagship and oh-so-queer album Born this Way, the singer chose to release a special cover version of the album. And, in an exciting twist, we just grabbed the title song.

Born This Way The Tenth Anniversary Special Edition goes on sale June 18. Gaga and his collaborator Orville Peck released this morning the cover of the latter’s title track, a so-called “Country Road Version” of “Born This Way”.

The collaboration with Peck has a strange meaning given that Peck identifies as gay and is also known to always wear a mask; in other words, exactly the sort of thing Gaga would wear. Although music lovers have come up with several theories, its true identity remains unknown.

We have to ask ourselves if, given the subtitle, Gaga & Peck took any inspiration from Lil Nas X… which is never a bad thing. On the other hand, listening to the track, we got some serious Elvis Presley vibes from Peck’s voice. And we are very much in agreement with that.

Listen and try not to do the Elvis hip shake.
