Laverne Cox has been named as Giuliana Rancic’s replacement on the red carpet by E !. Cox will take over hospitality functions for the 2022 Awards Season.
Rancic announced Friday that she is stepping down on the red carpet for E! after 20 years to explore a new development agreement with the parent company of E !, NBCUniversal.
“One of my passions is great storytelling and I am delighted to announce a new development agreement with the parent company of E! NBCUniversal where I’ll produce and bring stories to life, ”Rancic said on an Instagram post.
His departure comes three months after another longtime red carpet host Ryan Seacrest also resigned to focus on other businesses.
Cox has herself been nominated for an Emmy four times and was most recently seen in the up-and-coming Oscar-winning young lady. In addition to hosting award red carpets, she will also host several special celebrity interview shows for E !.
