South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham spoke out for Chick-fil-A, saying he was ready to “go to war” to defend the brand of chicken sandwich.
Chick-fil-A has long been criticized for his past donations to Christian groups and anti-LGBTQ politicians. This resulted in the boycott, brand picketing, and the loss of lucrative contracts.
Just this week, it emerged that Democrats in New York were considering banning Chick-fil-A from applying for contracts at rest stops. The state is considering a $ 450 million plan to modernize 27 rest areas on its road network.
Among the main attempts to stop Chick-fil-A from operating at rest areas is State Assembly Member Harry Bronson, who has started a petition to stop Chick-fil-A from entering.
After years of millions of donations to organizations hostile to LGBTQ + rights, the decision to approve @ChickfilA as an approved concession to our rest stops is worrying to say the least.

Graham was among those who criticized the move, saying on Twitter: “I hope this threat is nothing but bluster from the leftist politicians in New York. If such a disastrous decision were to happen – to ban a business enterprise because of exercising their First Amendment rights – it would set a horrible precedent. “
Then it emerged that some students and faculty at Notre Dame Catholic University in Indiana objected to a Chick-fil-A outing on campus. It sent Graham over the edge.
I want everyone in South Carolina and across America to know that I have Chick fil-A’s back.
I hope it is not necessary, but I will go to war for the principles defended by Chick fil-A.
Good food.
Very good service.
Great values.
God bless Chick fil-A!

In 2012, Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy said the company was “guilty of the charge” when asked if the brand opposes same-sex marriage. The backlash that followed led people to take a closer look at the company’s charitable giving. This revealed several religious groups and organizations known for their anti-LGBTQ policies.
Since then, the brand has been trying to change public opinion on its position. In 2019, he announced he was making a major shift in his charitable giving and would focus on promoting youth education, tackling youth homelessness and tackling hunger.
Chick-fil-A has always denied having a political agenda. Responding to news of New York’s rest plans, he released a statement this week saying, “We want to be clear that Chick-fil-A doesn’t have a political or social agenda, and we welcome everyone. world in our restaurants. “
Graham’s passionate defense of Chick-fil-A drew a scathing response online.
So shit Jan 6 but by God save the chicken sandwich from shit.

It’s a fast food restaurant that you garden trolls. We have real problems and you are going to fight for a franchise in a state that you don’t live in. Go get some lip balm and put your lips back on Trump’s orange ass.

Q: What do Linsdey Graham and Chick-fil-A have in common?
A: They are both popular with people who need to have a phonetically spelled “net”.

Is that your concern? Support a far-right company that supports hate groups? I support ND to fight against companies that further divide individuals and their right to freedom to choose. You sound like your everything for authoritarianism. Their Campus, their choice!

We get it, man, you’re obsessed with Chick-fil-a. But people are dying from Covid. Maybe focus on telling people to get the shot, instead of advertising a fast food chain that is one of your donors. pic.twitter.com/6udRtZIeIN

Homophobia is not a value, man. It is ignorant hatred, based on fear. Frankly, how do you sleep at night?

I think the shilling for a corporation is not a good image for an elected official. Goya beans and pillows are next, I guess.
