Machine Gun Kelly had donned his blonde locks in a longer hairstyle lately, but everything has apparently changed now – the musician’s head looks completely bald, as evidenced by a photo he shared this week, also revealing what appears to be a scalp tattoo.
The image was apparently captured during a video call between MGK and music video director Cole Bennett. Sharing it online Tuesday (Aug. 10), the rapper-turned-rocker – who, ahem, always referred to as ‘Blond Don’ in his Twitter bio – said, “I shaved my head for that. He then tagged the director and added, “‘Papercuts’ tomorrow at 9pm.” The message was accompanied by a clap emoji, as is used in the cinema.
See the photo down towards the bottom of this page. Some fans believe the musician is in fact wearing a bald cap, presumably for the video, and in fact hasn’t cut all of his hair.
Either way, Kelly’s posts suggest that “Papercuts,” the lead single from Machine Gun Kelly’s upcoming album Born With Horns, will release its music video on Thursday, August 12, the same day the song itself arrives. . The first 9pm slot is, in all likelihood, based in the Pacific time zone of Kelly’s home base in Los Angeles. Will it be when MGK fans can better see the artist’s hairless head and assume some new scalp ink?
Kelly, real name Colson Baker, previously teased the audio for “Papercuts” on social media last week (August 7), promoting the same airtime for the video. The lyrics heard in the excerpt are: “Signed a deal / I got papercuts / They want them / But they got us.”
Born with Horns, Kelly’s second album in collaboration with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, was announced on Monday, August 9. Around this time, Kelly and Barker both showed off matching album title tattoos that were on the back of each of their left forearms. Of course, Kelly has another head ink too – for his latest hip-hop album, Hotel Diablo of 2019, he got the title tattooed elsewhere on his head.
Kelly is currently dating actress Megan Fox. Last month, she shared in an interview how she “went to hell” psychologically during a drug experiment with him.
Rock + metal musicians who are also tattoo artists
It’s no secret that rock and metal tend to go hand in hand with tattoos. But not all ink-obsessed rockers just sit on the receiving end of the needle; many become tattoo artists themselves. Here are some of the rock and metal musicians who double as tattoo artists.
