Mandy Moore is (again) a blonde!
On Thursday, May 20, Moore said she was “back to blonde for [the] summer. The singer-actress wanted a new look for the summer, so she went back to her signature blonde hue.
“I was yearning for a much needed change,” Moore told People of her new hair color. “It really felt like it was the perfect time to do something different, with the world seemingly opening up again… normal, it’s like it really is just around the corner. “
Instead of going to a salon, Moore actually dyed her hair herself at home, using the advice of celebrity hairstylist Nikki Lee.
“It’s floaty and bouncy and shiny and shiny and whatever I wanted,” she added.
Since Moore’s hit TV show This Is Us will end with Season 6 in 2022, she has confirmed that she will wear a brown wig to film the show so she can keep her hair lighter.
“With this new chapter in my life, it was just the right time to change my hair,” she continued. “The color shows how exciting and hopeful people are.”
Moore’s hair and fashion styles have changed and evolved over the years to the point that she describes herself as enjoying “being a bit of a chameleon.”
“That’s the fun part that I found in my kind of personal journey as a woman,” she shared. “I love being able to express myself through fashion and different hair colors and hairstyles. It’s so exciting to be able to think about any change that works for me at any time. ”
Moore previously revealed that her role as the healthy Jamie Sullivan in A Walk To Remember in 2002 inspired her to go brunette for most of her adult life.
“It came at a time in my life when I was only seen from the pop music landscape and through that lens,” Moore told Entertainment Tonight. “There was real meaning in coloring my hair. As ridiculous as it might sound, there was real meaning in the way people saw me, but also in the way I looked and looked at myself. C ‘was the last little piece of the puzzle I think in terms of getting into character. “
