BIOGRAPHY OF MASSIMO GAUDIOSO
Director, screenwriter, actor. He worked from 1983 to 95 as a copywrighter, director of documentaries, commercials, videos, theme songs and television programs. In 1995 he wrote and shot the short film “Il caricatore” together with two other young directors, Fabio Nunziata and Eugenio Cappuccio, which won the Youth Audience Award at the Locarno Film Festival. The short film became a film in 1996 and won numerous awards including the Holden Award for screenplay at the Turin Film Festival, the Casa Rossa award in Bellaria as the best Italian independent film of the year, the Anec gold plate and the Ciak d’oro. as best first work, the Sacher d’oro for the production. Together with his two colleagues he shoots in 1997 “A case of force majeure” based on the homonymous story by Massimo Bontempelli and in 1999 “Life is only one”. In 2003, together with Ugo Chiti and Matteo Garrone, he obtained the David di Donatello for the screenplay of “L’imbalsamatore” (2002). He is the author of the story and the screenplay of the film “Primo amore” which Garrone himself is director of.
