Becoming a successful actor is a long shot at best, and turning that career into profitable box office stats seems like an impossible dream. But there are plenty of young movie stars out there who have done just that, establishing themselves as upper echelons in the film industry and making their mark long before they hit their forties.
In order to determine who all these Hollywood heavy hitters are and how they line up at the box office, Stacker used the January 2020 data from The Numbers to rank the top 30 actors under 30 based on their total earnings at the national box office, in order of lowest to highest. Voice actors have also been considered, and in addition to the domestic box office, the overall average box office earnings of each actor are listed.
The majority of these great actors began their careers as children, working in theater, commercials and television, before gaining breakout roles in films and film franchises that would go on to become global hits.
In addition to bringing box office gold to their films, these young artists have been nominated and won numerous awards for their roles, and some have turned to production and directing, proving that despite their youth , they’re serious players in the industry, with skill sets that extend beyond the stage and the screen. Many are now in their early to mid-twenties, while some have barely reached their teens, but all have done their careers incredibly well in a fairly short period of time.
