Always fresh in people’s minds, “The Disaster Artist” from 2017 tells the story of the creation of “The Room”, one of the most famous turkeys of all time. Like Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood”, James Franco’s film also testifies to the power of ignorant filmmaking and the ridiculous films that result from it.
These are the Real Rotten Tomatoes and Golden Raspberry Award winners, at least some of whom have garnered shocking levels of attention or success despite – or more often than not because of – their horror.
Most viewed but universally hated movies
In honor of bad cinema, Stacker has amassed a list of the most viewed but universally hated movies of all time. For data, Stacker searched IMDB for movies with over 25,000 user ratings, aggregating and weighting IMDB and Metacritic ratings to create a proprietary Stacker score for each movie. Using this score, Stacker ranked the top 50 movies, from worst to worst. Ties were broken by Metascore and other ties were broken by votes. Without further ado, here are the most viewed, but universally hated, movies of all time.
