BIOGRAPHY OF NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU
Beautiful, smart, simple and – today – very popular, the future Jamie Lannister of the Game of Thrones was born in the summer of 1970 in a small town on the island of Langeland, the son of a librarian and an alcoholic father from whom his mother soon divorced to raise him and his two older sisters alone. From an early age Nikolaj was attracted to the profession of an actor. At 15 he says he saw Once upon a time in America and being literally overwhelmed by it. Attend the Danish National School of Theater and Dance in Copenhagen from 1989 to 1993, and then moved on to interpret Shakespeare and other classics on theatrical stages (his baptism in the theater took place in 1992 in the role of Laertes in Hamlet). Since 1998 he has been married to the Greenlandic singer and actress Nukâka, who gave him daughters Safina and Philippa. The Coster-Waldau family lives in Lygby, Denmark. In his spare time Nikolaj loves to read and play football. His great kindness and availability towards the fans is known.
