Actor. Defined by the US film critics as the ‘Clarke Gable of the Pacific’, with 20 starring films in just under 10 years and 6 television serials to his credit, Russell Crowe is one of the best known and most appreciated actors in Australia, second in popularity only to Mel Gibson. Son of a Norwegian and a Maori, he was brought by his parents to Australia when he was four years old. He began attending the world of entertainment as a child, accompanying his parents, cooks and catering preparers for the cinema on the sets.
