A year ago, Rudy Giuliani was the right-hand man of President Donald Trump. Today he’s persona non grata at Trumpland, but he still doesn’t appear to have received the memo, despite being totally frozen by his former BFF.
Reports of Giuliani having financial difficulties have been circulating for months. Now The Daily Beast is reporting that things are even worse than people initially thought. Because he’s not just broke. He’s broke and friendless.
Apparently, Giuliani has been completely excluded from Donald Trump’s inner and outer circles. Not only does the ex-president refuse to answer his calls, but none of his former henchmen colleagues will even recognize his existence.
Giuliani is currently trapped in several lawsuits as well as a federal investigation into his alleged illegal dealings with Ukraine.
After Trump refused to pay him for his efforts to try to overturn the 2020 election results on his behalf, the former New York mayor had to resort to crowdfunding to cover his growing legal fees, which would cost him money. millions of dollars.
“There were times when I asked people from the [former] the president’s orbit to see if Trump wanted to draw attention to fundraising, ”an unnamed Giuliani associate said. “It didn’t go anywhere. A lot of those people wouldn’t even tweet or retweet [links to the legal fund] when I asked them.
Thin! Not even a retweet?
The daily beast notes:
While Giuliani’s longtime friend Bernard Kerik, the former New York City Police Commissioner, set out to create a fundraising site for Rudy’s legal bills, little others have even been willing to send an RT on Twitter to Trump’s former consigliere. (Trump himself can’t retweet anything, as he’s been banned from Twitter for inciting political violence, but he could issue a statement supporting Giuliani’s fund and distribute it widely through the app.)
Insiders say Guiliani’s declining staff made “multiple unsuccessful attempts” to get help from anyone – anyone! . “
“We are authorized to challenge the RNC and other Republican leaders,” a source said. “But not Donald Trump.”
Earlier this summer, Giuliani raised just under $ 10,000 to cover his legal bills on Fundly before the fundraising page disappeared. He initially hoped to raise $ 5 million in two months.
