Tom Hiddleston is now a Billboard artist thanks to his Marvel character, Loki.
The MCU actor performed the song “Very Full” during the third episode of the original Disney + series, Loki. The track debuted No. 10 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. The single sold nearly 500 copies as of the week of July 8.
Hiddleston sings the majority of the song in Norwegian (in the series, they claim the language is Asgardian, the native tongue of his home planet of Asgard). Although the track is credited as “Very Full” on Loki’s soundtrack: Volume 1, during the end credits the song was titled “Jeg Saler Min Ganger”, which translates to “I Seal My Times” in English.
The Marvelous Villain sings about his past loneliness and tribulations and fans apparently couldn’t get enough of them.
“In the mountains blackened by the storm, I wander alone / Through the glaciers, I travel / In the apple orchard, the beautiful maiden stands / And sings: ‘When will you come home?'”, he sings on the track.
This isn’t the only Loki-inspired track to go viral. TikTok user @emojoseph created his own original lyrics to the melody from Harry Styles’ hit “Watermelon Sugar”. He sings about the different variations of Loki, TVA, Alligator, and what MCU fans want more from the series.
Believe it or not, Hiddleston already has musical experience. He previously played country star Hank Williams in the 2016 film, I Saw the Light and he also voiced Captain Hook in the Disney animated film The Pirate Fairy.
This is the second Marvel / Disney + track to appear on Billboard. Kathryn Hahn’s song “Agatha All Along” by Wandavision has already made its debut in the sales charts for digital songs of all genres.
