BIOGRAPHY OF TONY GOLDWYN
Actor and director. He is a true son of art. Her mother is actress Jennifer Howard and her father is producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr., while her maternal grandparents are actress Claire Eames and screenwriter Sidney Howard, and her paternal grandparents are actress Frances Howard and producer Samuel Goldwyn. With this background it is not surprising that the young Tony has chosen the profession of actor. After making his debut in 1985 at the Manhattan Theater Club in New York with “Digby”, directed by Ron Lagomarsino, in 1987 he made his film debut with “Gaby: a true story” by Luis Mandoki. In 1990 he is Carl Bruner, the evil friend of Sam Wheat / Patrick Swayze in “Ghost” by Jerry Zucker and thanks to the international success of the film, the actor is also known all over the world. Active on screen but also on stage, he starred with Kevin Bacon in Theresa Rebeck’s “Spike Hills” and numerous off-Broadway shows. In 1999, after being the protagonist of the successful mini-series produced by Tom Hanks and broadcast by HBO “From the heart to the moon” (in which he plays Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon), he tries the road of he directs and directs “A walk on the moon – Accomplice the moon”, presented with excellent reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. His latest interpretations include Gary Fleder’s “The Collector” (1997), Roger Spottiswoode’s “Il 6 ° Giorno” (2000) and Don Roos’ “Bounce” (2001). In 2001 he directed his second film “Someone Like You”. He is married to production designer Jane Musky, with whom he has two daughters.
