“When you make a movie, people can interpret it however they want and see something in it that the filmmakers didn’t know they were tapping. So we are surprised every time we hear about or write something about the movies we shoot that don’t have real context for the filmmakers or what the filmmakers wanted to do. And yet there is relevance to them, because people believe it. Tony [director Tony Scott] and Quentin [Tarantino] were great friends. In fact, Quentin came and helped Tony and myself on Crimson Tide. He came over and wrote some scenes for us. So there was great camaraderie and great respect between Quentin and Tony.
