Tyler Posey credited his girlfriend with making him understand that he was “sexually fluid”.
On Thursday July 1, NME posted an interview with the Teen Wolf alum. He explained how his producer girlfriend Phem had helped him become aware of his sexuality.
“She helped me realize that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I’m sexually fluid, I guess.” he said before correcting himself. “No, not ‘I guess’. I want no one to take this [interview] and be like, ‘Well, he was kinda bland about it.’ ”
“I’ve been with everyone under the sun, and right now I’m in the best relationship I’ve ever had with a woman, and she’s queer too,” he revealed.
Earlier this year, Posey made headlines for setting up an OnlyFans account. He was accused of being a “gay-baiter” because of this.
“Someone asked me if I had been with men [as well as women], and I said yes, ”Posey explained. “Since then there has been this very loud person online – I’m pretty sure it’s just one person – and they’re trying to call me a ‘gay bait’: pretend I’m gay to make money, basically. “
Posey said he found the claim “weird” and was only trying to be his real self. He was shocked by the “really cruel” intimidation of the troll.
Posey and Phem have apparently been seeing each other for quite some time. He revealed the story of their first kiss in an interview with Stage Right Secrets. The two were at a sex party, watching something like “Cirque du Soleil but with naked people”. Posey had previously left for a few months to shoot a film before reuniting with his musical collaborator.
“I was really trying to maintain a professional relationship because I knew we were going to continue writing together and I didn’t want to ruin everything,” he explained. “I just thought she was so cool, I was really like, ‘D — man, this girl is really different and fun and awesome and sweet.'”
“So we were like hanging out a cigarette outside and I was still sober at this point so everyone was all messed up and I was just the sober person at the sex party and then we were talking and then she went. Said I was really cute and I was like, “Oh, that is fucking awesome” and then we kissed, “he recalls.
His next song “Kerosene” on his upcoming EP, DRUGS, will tell the story of that night. He even used their hair colors (blue and green) in the lyrics.
