BIOGRAPHY OF JAUME BALAGUERÓ

Director and screenwriter. He moved very young, with his family, to Barcelona, where he still lives today. After graduating in Communication Sciences in 1991, he studied photography and film directing with the Argentine author Hector Fàver. At the same time, he began to collaborate with various cinema magazines and with the radio. In 1992 he became editor with the magazine ‘Zineshock’, dedicated to underground and more radical cinema. For ‘Radio L’Hospitalet’, he presents and directs the film criticism program ‘La espuma de los dias’. He made his directorial debut in 1994 with the short film ‘Alicia’, which he also wrote, which participates in numerous international festivals. The following year he wrote, directed and edited his second short, ‘Dias sin luz’. In 1999 he directed his first feature film: ‘Nameless – Entità Nascosta’ – which had a good international success and marked the beginning of a series of horror / thriller films in Spanish sauce – which was followed in 2002 by ‘Darkness’ and in the same year a documentary ‘”OT: la pelìcula’. In 2005 he directed ‘Fragile’ and wrote the subject of ‘The Nun’. His ‘Para entrar a vivir’ a film that was presented out of competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 is part of a horror series for Spanish TV and in 2007 the film ‘Rec’ which he directed together with Paco Plaza.
