BIOGRAPHY OF MASSIMO BOLDI
Actor. He took his first steps in the entertainment world at the beginning of the 60s performing at the legendary cabaret ‘Derby Club’ in Milan first together with the musical band Mimitoki (where he plays the drums) and then, standing out for his comic skills , as the shoulder of artists such as Renato Pozzetto, Cochi Ponzoni, Carlo Verdone and Enrico Montesano. There also begins the partnership with Teo Teocoli, together with which he gives life to a lucky comic duo that has been dissolved and reassembled several times over the course of their artistic careers. From cabaret to TV the step is short and in 1974 he made his debut on the small screen by participating in the broadcast “Canzonissima ’74”, later reaching popularity thanks to a series of characters presented in successful shows such as “A tutto gag”, “Drive In “,” Risatissima “,” Le comiche “,” A roundabout on the sea “,” Taste of the sea “,” Saturday at the circus “,” Seriously “. The film debut dates back to the mid-70s and from that moment he became one of the protagonists of the Italian comedy acting alongside the aforementioned Teocoli and Pozzetto, Paolo Villaggio, Carlo Verdone, Diego Abatantuono, Ezio Greggio, Lino Banfi, Enrico Montesano. In 1996 he leaves the role of the comedian and plays “Festival”, directed by Pupi Avati, which receives critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival where it is presented as a special event. A separate chapter deserves the partnership with Christian De Sica, met in 1985 with the film “I pompieri” by Neri Parenti. The Boldi-De Sica duo slips one success after another with the line of panettone-films (inaugurated with “Christmas Holidays ’90”) directed gradually by Enrico Oldoini, Carlo Vanzina and above all Neri Parenti, eventually winning a David Special in 2000 “for the punctuality in presenting successful films every Christmas”. Despite the resounding success of their films, in 2005 the couple announced their breakup after “Christmas in Miami”. In the same year, Boldi returns once again on TV to present the ninth edition of “Scherzi a parte” (alongside Diego Abatantuono and Alessia Marcuzzi). Since 1973 he has been married to Marisa Selo, who died in 2004, with whom he had daughters Micaela, Manuela and Marta.
