Emmy-winning actress Annie Murphy has revealed she is a fan of Schitt’s Creek in hopes of a follow-up feature in the series. In fact, Murphy wants to see the movie happen so badly that she has taken to bribing series writer Dan Levy.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, Murphy details his own thirst to return to Schitt’s Creek and his character, Alexis.
“I sent Dan [Levy] $ 5 a day in the mail as a bribe, ”Murphy joked. “So far I haven’t had any official news on a movie. But, oh my God, I would be thrilled if that happened because I miss everyone so much every day.
“Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that,” she added. Murphy then speculated on a potential plot for the film.

“Did David and Patrick adopt a child?” Murphy applied. “I sure hope Alexis doesn’t because I think she might not be quite in on it yet, but I don’t know. I just want to see everyone back at the screen and I’ll be a happy camper.… We were very lucky to have an amazing group of writers on this show. My mom and dad watched the show again because they miss me and my mom keeps on watching. remember lines that I had completely forgotten.
Dan Levy, for his part, hinted that a Schitt’s Creek movie could be coming, if he found the right story. He responded to Murphy’s comments in an interview with Town & Country.
“That pesky woman,” Levy joked. “No, not at the moment. I hope eventually. Look, I love everyone so much. I love Annie, even for hinting at that. We had a great time doing the show and I think that if the idea is good i would love to explore what a movie might look like. but i don’t have that idea yet. i’m still looking for it. so i’m keeping my fingers crossed, but i also think you have to leave a little time for people to miss you so i’m taking some time and we’ll see what happens in the next few years, but i’m keeping my fingers crossed.
By the time its final season aired in the United States last year, Schitt’s Creek had become a cultural phenomenon. The show’s four main performers – Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Murphy, and Dan Levy – won Emmys for their performances. Levy also made history, becoming the first performer to win Emmys for directing, writing, and performing in a show that same night.
