BIOGRAPHY OF DENNIS FARINA
Actor. The son of Italian emigrants, he was born and raised in Chicago where in the mid-1960s he enlisted in the local police. The entry into the world of entertainment was completely accidental. In 1981, director Michael Mann called him as a consultant for the film “Violent Roads” and later entrusted him with a small part in the same film. After this experience, he decided to devote himself to acting in his spare time, even without adequate preparation, so he appeared in several theatrical productions on the Chicago stages and occasionally in some movies. In 1986 Mann himself called him to play the protagonist of the TV series “Crime Story” and from that moment, leaving the police force, he devoted himself exclusively to a film and television career, becoming one of the best character actors Hollywood, especially in roles that portray the two faces of the law, the policeman or the criminal, in a comic or dramatic key. From his wife Patricia, married in 1970 and divorced ten years later, he had children Dennis Jr., Michael and Joseph.
