Former Vice President Dick Cheney is said to be very, very, very worried about where the Republican Party is going. And just like that, the irony is dead.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Aspen Institute, the ex-VP’s daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney, revealed to the audience that her 80-year-old father is not only “troubled,” but ” deeply troubled “by the extent to which the GOP has fallen since its heyday of overseeing the country’s torture program.
“My father is deeply concerned about where our party is located, deeply concerned about the situation in the country,” she said.

Liz Cheney has been one of the GOP’s most vocal critics of Donald Trump’s failed campaign to overturn the 2020 election results, and it cost her dearly. In addition to being ousted from her role as House leader, she is persona non grata among her colleagues, who frequently attack her in the media.
Earlier this year, she and her nemesis, Representative Matt Gaetz, waged a bitter war with words that ultimately led Cheney to deliver a homophobic blow to the congressman. (Cheney and Gaetz both have 0% ratings with the HRC.)
