Louisiana was just hit by a massive Category 4 hurricane, leaving thousands of people without power and even more vulnerable to flooding, property damage and heat as much of the state remains in blackout. ‘electricity.
Fortunately, Jovi and Yara shared that they weren’t in the state at the time.
“To everyone who reached out. Thank you very much, ”Jovi shared via Instagram after Hurricane Ida passed. “This is one of the worst storms to pass through Louisiana, directly impacting my hometown. Please keep my family and friends, and the entire state of Louisiana in your prayers as we weather this storm. We evacuated safely to Dallas, and we are out of danger. ”
He shared another update the next day, writing, “Just over a week ago I was standing here by the lake near where we live in Louisiana. Everything was calm and no one could have expected what was to come. This area is now completely underwater, and as many of you have seen, the damage to Louisiana has been devastating. “
Jovi shared that his region was among the hardest hit by the storm. “My hometown has been one of the hardest hit. I will continue to post about this to raise awareness and gain support for the people of Louisiana. I will research and make sure I publish reliable information for donations / etc. “

Jovi’s mother, Gwen, shared footage of the flooding on her street after Ida.
