Kelly Clarkson Wins Court Victory Amid Divorce

Kelly Clarkson has just won a major legal victory in her divorce.

On Thursday (August 12), TMZ reported that the singer received an email stating that her marriage contract had been fully confirmed by the judge overseeing her divorce case. The marriage contract is said to have “separated all assets and income from her marriage to Brandon Blackstock”.

According to the report, Clarkson heard the news while she was on the set of The Voice, where she let out a cry of excitement.

The original prenuptial agreement between her and Blackstock separates everything, meaning she will likely retain possession of the Montana ranch where Blackstock currently resides. (This is also where the couple quarantined in 2020.)

For his part, Blackstock challenged the marriage contract and reportedly demanded that any income earned by his future ex-wife during their nearly seven years of marriage be shared with him.

Blackstock also testified that he wanted to start a career in rodeo. He said he works full-time on the ranch and plans to become a full-time rancher and even sponsor rodeos.

In July, a judge asked Clarkson to pay $ 195,601 per month in temporary spousal and child support, as well as $ 1.25 million to cover Blackstock’s legal fees. However, Blackstock was responsible for the monthly payments of approximately $ 81,000 for the ranch.

Clarkson was granted primary custody of their children, River, 7, and Remington, 5. She recently filed official court documents to change her legal last name to Clarkson. Meanwhile, her The Voice co-star Blake Shelton has apparently pulled Blackstock as manager.
