Lauren Boebert can’t seem to let a single day go by without making some sort of garbage remark about LGBTQ people.
Whether she’s making fun of trans and non-binary people on Father’s Day, making fun of gay servicemen during Pride Month, or expressing support for homophobic HIV exposure laws, the deputy for Qanon never misses an opportunity to express her hatred of homosexual people.
Her most recent attack came in the form of a tweet about New Zealand professional weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, who is set to make history as the first openly trans athlete to compete in the Tokyo Olympics next month.
“Olympic weightlifter Sarah Robles is the first American to win a medal in the sport since 2000,” Boebert wrote. “In the next Olympics, Sarah will face a biological man from New Zealand who has competed in men’s weightlifting before. It’s wrong!”
The tweet included a photo of Robles with the words “America’s best female” and a photo of Hubbard with the words “New Zealand’s biological male”. Under both pictures were the words “WELCOME TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF WOKE”.

Hubbard rarely gives media interviews, but in 2017, she said Thing that she is well aware that there are people who do not support her and that she tries not to let them distract her.
“I am aware that I will not be supported by everyone, but I hope people can keep an open mind and maybe look at my performance in a larger context,” she said. “Maybe the fact that it took someone like me so long to get over this indicates that some of the issues people are suggesting are not what they might seem.”
Official rules from the International Olympic Committee state that trans women can compete in the female category if they maintain a total testosterone level below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least 12 months. Hubbard meets this requirement, which is why she is eligible to compete.
As well as being the first openly trans athlete, she will also be the oldest weightlifter at the Tokyo games.
