Librarian has perfect response to scrotum-obsessed GOP candidate collapse over gay rabbit book

Scrotum-obsessed GOP congressman Derrick Van Orden became the laughing stock this week when he was portrayed as a petulant boy and rampant homophobe by a teenage librarian.

Speaking to her local newspaper, 18-year-old Kerrigan Trautsch recounted how the 51-year-old broke into the Prairie Chien Memorial Library in Prairie du Chien, Wis. On June 17 and threw a dramatic crisis on an LGBTQ- exhibit claiming the children’s books she had prepared for Pride Month.

Now Library Director Nancy Ashmore tells People that Van Orden actually came three times that day – first to have a temper tantrum, then to open an account at the library and check out all of them. gay books except one, then to come back. after he had presumably finished reading them.

“He was upset when he first came over,” Ashmore said. “When he returned later in the day he was much more reasonable and calm.”

One of the books that Van Orden was most upset about was the picture book A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, which is a parody of former Second Lady Karen Pence’s picture book on the Rabbit. companionship of her husband.

The picture book, which was an instant bestseller when it was first released in 2018, criticizes Pence’s anti-LGBTQ views by detailing the homosexual romance between Marlon Bundo and another bunny.

Van Orden filed an official “statement of concern” with the library, in which he called the book “historically inaccurate” and “propaganda”.

Asked by People about the complaint, Ashmore got the perfect answer: “He’s absolutely right, it’s not factual. But it’s not meant to be. This is fiction.

After the story broke, Van Orden released a statement saying he “unequivocally supported[s] equal rights for all Americans. He just doesn’t support same-sex love stories about cartoon bunnies, which he says “degrade the relationships we have as citizens.”

Despite Van Orden’s objections, Ashmore, who has worked at the library for 30 years, says she has no plans to discontinue the Pride Month display next June.

“The display is growing every year as we keep getting more materials,” she said. “It’s going to keep getting bigger. This is something we do every year, and we intend to continue to do so.

As well as being an aspiring politician, Van Orden is the author of the 2015 “Book of Man: A Navy Seal’s Guide to the Lost Art of Manhood”, which includes a chapter in which he writes in startling detail about the scrotum of another man.
