Mary Trump did not hesitate to speak about Meghan McCain in a new interview with The Daily Beast published this morning.
Asked about being snubbed by John McCain’s daughter during a recent appearance on The View, Mary joked, “I think she’s really sweet and wanted to help me sell more books.”
“No, that’s not it,” she continued. “I think she’s a coward. And she’s afraid of people who are not only willing but able to call her.
As you may recall, McCain refused to speak to Trump earlier this month, leading to Trump berating her in absentia.
The two women clashed last year when Trump took to The View to promote his first book.
McCain, without a hint of irony, accused her of trying to “take advantage” of her last name. Then she said she didn’t like Trump’s book (which she admitted she hadn’t read) and that she didn’t think she was “legitimate” and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah .
Trump pushed back and, most people agree, made McCain look like a complete idiot.
“I’m pretty sure she probably remembers our first meeting,” she told the Daily Beast. “It was the first time in an interview that someone was rude to me and I pushed back.”
Trump added that meeting McCain ended up being “great for me” because “it was also kind of a confidence booster because I realized I could do it. I can handle things like that.”
She went on to say that, of all the media appearances she has ever made, McCain was the most disrespectful interviewer she has ever met, a sentiment that many others can probably relate to.
“I literally can’t remember the last time someone disrespected me,” she said. “I didn’t do anything to him.
And as to being snubbed by John McCain’s daughter earlier this month, Trump said he fully plans to ‘eviscerate’ but ‘then I find out that she won’t be in my very segment. if I had talked to his producer for about half an hour. “
“You know, she’s awful. I mean, she’s just a non-entity.
