Matt Gaetz’s crappy book sales figures finally out and OMG how embarrassing

While it might be called a “brandon,” sales figures from Rep Matt Gaetz’s latest book suggest otherwise. No one is buying what the beleaguered congressman sells.

According to The Daily Beast, Gaetz broke the law by failing to list how much he made from his shitty book Firebrand, published last September, in his financial disclosure report.

After being called over the omission, his office said it needed “additional documents” from the publisher and was “in the process of receiving this information and amending the member’s financial disclosure. Congress”.

Today, almost a year after the book’s release, the report has finally been updated. This shows that Gaetz pocketed $ 25,000 from the briefs, after giving 30% of his profits to his wedding agent / DJ, Sergio Gor.

The Daily Beast reports:

If Gaetz’s $ 25,000 claim and posting terms are correct, the disclosure says Firebrand didn’t exactly burn the charts. Its reported profits suggest that the memoir grossed a total of around $ 59,500 between August and December, earning its contract publisher, Post Hill Press, just under $ 15,000.

Hardcover copies were originally listed for $ 27 – newer ones are now under $ 10 – and you can still purchase an ebook for $ 14.99. To match its disclosure, a price of $ 27 would equate to approximately 2,200 units sold. But even at the low end of the $ 10 a pop range, Gaetz reportedly sold less than 6,000 copies of Firebrand over several months.

To make matters even more embarrassing, Gaetz promoted Book Hell, hitting the media circuit, blowing up social media, and calling on Donald Trump Jr. and Sean Hannity to spread the word.

He even asked then-President Donald Trump to hook him up not once but twice on Twitter before his account was permanently suspended for incitement to insurgency.

Yet despite all this, in the end, less than 6,000 copies of Firebrand were sold. And we’ll guess that at least a few of them were bought by federal investigators, who are probably very curious about the chapter where Gaetz writes about a New Years Eve trip he took to Key West in 2019. with two of his “best friends” who are now involved in his investigation into adolescent sex trafficking.

Bombardier Books – the Post Hill publisher who published the book – and distributor Simon & Schuster declined to comment on Gaetz’s dismal book sales. He didn’t comment either. Probably because he’s too busy posting rape photos of his new wife, Ginger, on Twitter.
