BIOGRAPHY OF MICHAEL FASSBENDER
Half German and half Northern Irish, Michael Fassbender was born on April 2, 1977 in Heidelberg, West Germany, but soon moved to Killarney, in the Irish county of Kerry, where his parents took over the West End House restaurant, one of them preparing the food and the other of the hall. As for little Michael, despite being an altar boy, he immediately proves to be a hothead. That it is acting that puts him back in line – which he approaches for the first time at the age of seventeen – seems out of the question, and two years after his debut on the stage the actor moves to London. After cutting his teeth at the Drama Center, Fassbender is welcomed into the Oxford Stage Company, which entrusts him with a role in a staging of “The three sisters”. In 2001 Michael Fassbender made his debut on the small screen in the miniseries produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg Band of Brothers – Brothers at the front, while the film debut takes place in 2006 thanks to 300. If this character acquires an extra dose of charm thanks to the actor, the role that makes him one of the cinematographic icons of the third millennium is that of sex addict Brandon, tormented protagonist of Shame (2011), new collaboration Steve McQueen which makes Fassbender win the Coppa Volpi at the Venice Film Festival. At the Italian Festival Michael also appears with A Dangerous Method (2011), film by David Cronenberg where it is Carl Gustav Jung. Also in 2011, Michael Fassbender is lucky enough to join the team of X-Men, winning the role of Young Magneto in X-Men: The beginning. He will again play the character in X-Men: Days of a future past (2014) and in X-Men: Apocalypse, scheduled for 2016.
