Rudy Giuliani, the (former) troubled lawyer, has seen his bank account balance drop almost as fast as his stature since becoming Donald Trump’s right-hand man.
Recently, it was forced to lay off several of its staff, as well as a number of independent contractors, in an attempt to cut costs in the face of rising legal fees. Earlier this summer, Giuliani raised just under $ 10,000 to cover his legal bills on Fundly before the fundraising page disappeared. He initially hoped to raise $ 5 million in two months.
However, a seemingly vital staff member he was keeping was his communications manager, 22-year-old Christianne Allen. But as the walls continue to close on the former New York mayor, Allen has had enough. She officially resigned.
While at Giuliani Communications LLC, Allen traveled with Giuliani and led many initiatives to expand his social media presence. We’ve certainly seen him a lot on Twitter, but it was usually because of an inconsistent glow or a melting face.
Still, Allen feels “blessed” for the time she spent with Giuliani.
“Reflecting on, I am proud of the accomplishments we have made,” she said in a statement. “One of them was to create Rudy Giuliani’s Common Sense podcast, from its conception to one of the best political podcasts in the country in less than a year. Looking ahead, I once again feel blessed to have the opportunity for continued growth and development within a booming tech startup.
Allen’s departure comes at a precarious time for Giuliani, who faces civil lawsuits related to the 2020 Big Lie and a federal investigation into his alleged misdeeds of foreign influence. Now he also has to manage a new PR team.
This new team will be led by Todd Shapiro, whose former clients include the Lohan family and the Hooters regional franchises.
He will need more than a club in Mykonos and mozzarella sticks to rehabilitate Giuliani’s image.
