Message to all the gay boys who fell for Robin, the Boy Wonder: the comic book icon came out of the closet as a bisexual.
Well, one of them did. Tim Drake, one of the many Robins to fight alongside Batman in the comics, has joined the growing ranks of queer crime fighters in the pages of DC Comics this week. In Batman: Urban Legends # 6, which hits shelves August 10, Drake saves his school friend Bernard from a cult called The Chaos Monsters. As the two fight side by side, Tim swoons over his longtime friend. Bernard also confides in Robin (not knowing that Tim is his true identity) that a mega crush on Tim has helped him come to terms with his own sexuality. Tim then has a moment of realization that he is making those feelings for Bernard.
ComicBook.com reports that, as of now, Tim hasn’t quite labeled his sexuality, although he does know he liked both men and women. So for now, we’ll call him bisexual.
The issue, written by Meghan Fitzmartin with artist Belén Ortega, colorist Alejandro Sánchez and letterer Pat Brosseau, has already met with ecstatic response on social media.

We would also be remiss if we didn’t add that Tim Drake will be joining the cast of the popular HBO series Titans when the series returns this fall. Actor Jay Lycurgo will wear the cape for the role. Hopefully we’ll see some bisexual Boy Wonder action there as well.
