Born on July 16, 1974 in Rome, Stefano Fresi, after having obtained the classical maturity, he enrolled in the Faculty of Arts, studies which, however, he will never complete in order to devote himself to the world of cinema. At the same time he continues his passion for music, graduating from the conservatory. At the beginning it was the theater that offered him the greatest possible outlet and it was right on the stage, during the show “The Three Musketeers”, that he strikes Michele Placido in the audience. Fascinated by his interpretation, Placido proposes him the role of Il Secco in Criminal novel (2005), Fresi’s debut on the big screen. It follows in 2008 Take me back, film by Anna Negri, in which Stefano plays a cameraman who finds himself filming the life of a couple in crisis. With this role, alongside Edoardo Leo, not only the success for Fresi arrives, but also a nomination for the David di Donatello as Best Supporting Actor. In the meantime, Fresi seems to have framed the road in which to best render more in cinema, the fun one of comedy and in 2014 he is on the set of the cinepanettone Any goddamn Christmas, in which, like the rest of the performers, he plays a double role. The following year he was hired for his friend Edoardo in Us and Giulia (2015), Leo’s fourth directorial effort, in which Fresi is the protagonist together with Luca Argentero is Claudio Amendola. In 2015 he was directed again by Bruno, but this time in a drama film, The last will be last, and in the same year he was nominated for the Nastri d’Argento for the interpretation in My daughter’s first time. The following year he was awarded by the author of the International Prize Vincenzo Crocitti (Francesco Fiumarella) as Best Film Actor.
In 2017 he returns in the role of Alberto in I can stop when I want – Masterclass and in I quit when I want – Ad Honorem, but it is a busy year for Fresi, who is also at the cinema with Pure Hearts, Nine and a half moons is The family home. On TV he plays the role of the actor Tino Buazzelli for the show In art Nino, aimed at celebrating the memory of Nino Manfredi. In 2018 he is in the lineless family of Disconnected, with Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Ricky Memphis is Carolina Crescentini, and is the antagonist of Paola Cortellesi in The Befana comes at night. Subsequently he is engaged both on the big screen as the protagonist of There’s time (2019), comedy by Walter Veltroni, than on TV with the miniseries The Name of The rose (2019) in the role of the Benedictine Salvatore.
