What happened to the Pepsi girl?

Once upon a time in the late ’90s, Pepsi launched what would become an iconic ad campaign starring the “Pepsi Girl,” played by a then-unknown curly-haired young actress named Hallie Eisenberg.

Each ad featured the 6-year-old going to an old-fashioned bar, still hand-in-hand with her grandfather, to order an iced Pepsi. Inevitably, the bartender would inform the youngster that he was only carrying coke – at that point, the adorable toddler would channel his inner Joe Pesci or Don Corelone, demanding to be given the soda she had requested.

In another famous TV spot, she gave a hilarious and inspiring speech to her veteran grandfather, nicknamed Sarge, about the struggle for the freedom to choose before running the whole restaurant to a “much better place” that just happens to be. serve your soda of choice.

Naturally, Pepsi Girl commercials have become as iconic and classic of the Pepsi brand as their various celebrity TV spots (Britney, Michael, Madonna, anyone?), But where is the Pepsi Girl now that she’s grown up? Keep reading to find out!

A (child) star is born

After his famous stint at Pepsi, Hallie turned his fame into a career as a child actor on the big screen. In 1998, she made her film debut in the children’s film Paulie. She played Marie Alweather, the owner of the film’s titular Disobedient Talking Parrot, alongside Tony Shaloub, Cheech Marin, Gena Rowlands and Jay Mohr.

She followed her star turn in Paulie with roles in The Insider and Bicentennial Man in 1999, as well as Beautiful in 2000 (opposite Minnie Driver). She also played Helen Keller in the Disney TV 2000 biopic The Miracle Worker.

Throughout the 2000s, Hallie made appearances in films, including the 2004 remake of The Goodbye Girl from 1977 and How to Eat Friend Worms from 2006, as well as on TV shows such as Get Real and Presidio Med. . Her final film credit was a minor role in 2010 Holy Rollers.

Talent runs in the family

If Hallie’s last name sounds a bit, it might be because she isn’t even the most famous actor in the family. While Hallie may have started with his Pepsi gig, her older brother is Oscar nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg.

A quick read of Hallie’s Instagram makes it clear that she and her brother are close – whether she’s touting her latest movie roles or sharing snapshots of their brother-in-law’s travels to China, Japan and in the Kentucky Derby, the sibling couple clearly share a bond that extends far beyond their similar career paths.

And the duo even shared the screen together! Do you remember Hallie’s small role in Holy Rollers? Well, this independent crime starred Jesse as a young Hasidic Jew dragged into the world of drug trafficking in the 1990s. Ironically, the film was released the same year the actor received critical acclaim and Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG nominations for his role as Mark Zuckerberg on The Social Network.

Say goodbye to show business

As her brother’s career exploded in the early 2010s, then 18-year-old Hallie decided to give up comedy and go to college after more than a decade in Hollywood. She then studied international studies at the American University in Washington DC, according to her now defunct student profile.

With a little more sleuthing, we managed to find out that she started working as a writing assistant at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, NY, in 2019. However, it seems she has since become the industry of the music, working as a license assistant for RCA Records.

Although she no longer plays on our TV or movie screens, it looks like Hallie, now 29, hasn’t strayed too far from the entertainment industry in the end!
