She doesn’t know when to stop, does she?
California gubernatorial candidate, former Trump supporter and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has vowed to tackle the “canceled wake-up culture” in a new tweet. In the same statement, she also claimed to have defeated the Soviet Union.

On May 24, Jenner tweeted a Daily Mail article about California’s dwindling population. Although still the most populous state in the United States, steadily rising property values have sparked a major housing crisis across the state. For Jenner, this crisis all stems from tech companies and cancels culture.
“In 1976, I faced the Soviet Union and won,” Jenner tweeted with the story. “Today, Silicon Valley’s monoculture seems to espouse the same values. I’ll take on Big Tech’s revival cancellation culture and win for all of California and America. Now is the time to stop silencing our voices!
Jenner’s reference to the Soviets (presumably) refers to her gold medal at the 1976 Olympics, in which she beat Soviet contender Mykola Avilov. Avilov won the bronze medal, while Jenner won the gold medal. We’re not sure this counts as a total defeat for the Soviet Union, which persisted for another 15 years, but hey, maybe they just never got over it.

As for wakefulness, the word “awake” does not actually appear in the Daily Mail story which focuses on questions of how high property values and the lack of a public health service have created a rent and homeless crisis in the state.
Caitlyn Jenner’s announcement of her intention to run against Gov. Gavin Newsom in a possible recall election this fall drew fierce criticism. Jenner was particularly criticized for calling for a ban on transgender athletes in school sports earlier this month. Jenner’s children have also expressed apprehension over her choice to run, fearing it could damage the image of the family.
