Donny Osmond just got involved in the Matt Gaetz drama… Wait, what?

Donny Osmond is currently all the rage on Twitter and it’s all Matt Gaetz’s fault.

The ’70s idol was probably elated when he woke up this morning to see he was in the news!

… Until he finds out it’s because people just noticed that he looks suspiciously like the anti-gay congressman who is currently trapped in a teen sex trafficking scandal.

Clumsy!

Here’s what they said …

Donny Osmond looks good.
Matt Gaetz looks like an evil cartoon version of Donny.

But not everyone agrees with the comparison …

The teenage girls had posters of Donny Osmond on their walls. Matt Gaetz has pictures of teenage girls on him.

Gaetz’s teenage sex trafficking scandal appears to be escalating. According to his latest financial disclosure released last week, he spent money, mostly on paying lawyers.

In the past three months, he has spent five times as much on legal services as in the previous three years. Not only that, but he hired Marc Fernich’s law firms to represent him. The company is best known for representing, wait for it, alleged child sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, before you get upset that people compare poor Donny Osmond, a beloved ’70s icon, to one of the most obnoxious members of Congress, let’s remember that the two have a lot more in common than theirs. big forehead and toothy smiles.

They are both furious homophobes.

In 2015, Gaetz said he disagreed with the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality, calling it a “threat to our democracy.” He also opposes the Equality Act. Oh, and let’s not forget he’s a good friend of Donald Trump, one of the most homophobic presidents in modern history.

Meanwhile, Osmond, a devout Mormon, believes being LGBTQ is a choice and that gay people need to do a better job not to, in his words, “[succumbing] to temptation.

He also opposes same-sex marriage and believes LGBTQ people should only be welcomed into his church if they promise to be single, going so far as to post a statement on his official website that read:

I love my friends, including my gay friends. We are all children of God. It is their choice, not mine, on how they lead their lives and choose to live the commandments according to the dictates of their own conscience.

And just in case that wasn’t enough, her own niece, Jessica, the eldest daughter of Donny’s sister, Marie, is a lesbian. When Jessica married his wife in 2019, he did not publicly congratulate her and it is also unclear whether he attended the wedding.

If you ask us, these two seem to be made for each other.
