BIOGRAPHY OF HILARY SWANK

Hilary Ann Swank, known only as Hilary Swank, was born on July 30, 1974 in Lincoln, Nebraska, although his family lived mostly in a trailer park, a caravan camp near Lake Samish in Bellingham, Washington. During her school years, Swank stood out for her two sporting skills, particularly in swimming and gymnastics. At the age of fifteen, following the separation of her parents, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother, to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. The first times, however, were very hard, as the two did not have enough money to rent a room and so they slept in the car; precisely this bond, consolidated during the Los Angeles period, strengthened the relationship between Hilary and her mother, who has always been defined by the actress as her source of inspiration for her career. Here in California, Swank briefly attends South Pasadena High School, which she will drop out of due to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and because she doesn’t feel comfortable in the environment. It was precisely this sense of strangeness, placated by the identification with filmic and literary characters, that pushed her more towards the actor’s path.

The first roles are for TV, appearances in some episodes of well-known series of the early nineties: Harry and the Hendersons (1991), Evening Shade (1991) and Parents in blue jeans (1992). A new moment of stardom, once again international, Swank reaches him with the entry into the cast of the eighth season of Beverly Hills 90210 (1997) as Carly Reynolds, the single mother Steve will fall in love with (Ian Ziering).
